Every morning you can see the sun rising in the east. The sun gives us light. When you stand in the sun you can feel the heat. The sun gives us heat from very far away. The sun is about one hundred and fifty million kilometers away. It looks small because it is so far from us, but it is actually very very big. The earth goes around the sun. It takes the earth a year to go around the sun. Plants, animals and people need the sun. We cannot live without the sun.
