step1 self-introduction

(i) this is the first english class in senior high, you are fresh to the students , so are the students. so it is necessary for you to introduce yourself to the students and get them to introduce them to you and other students , you must stress that the students must introduce them in english. if necessary, you can make an example first.

eg : my name is liyingxu , i am your new english teacher ,you can call me mr.li. i was born on april 16th in a small village in hebei province. i graduated from northwest minorities university , i have taught english in this school for three years. i am a friendly teacher , i am usually ready to help everyone of you. i like sports very much ,but i am not good at it. i don’t like music so much ,especially pop music, in my opinion, it is so noisy and meaningless. in my spare time, i like reading. i hope we can get along well with each other and i will try my best to teach you how to learn english well more than the grammar & vocabulary & drills. i will be strict with every student, so you must follow my words, or you will be punished.

(ii) get the students to introduce them to their partners in group of four, then ask some volunteers to introduce them to all the students in english. or

step2 vocabulary and speaking

(i) vocabulary

ask the students to tell you what subjects they learned in junior high school and what other subjects they will learn in senior high school, ask the students to express them in english as possible as they can, then write the words on the bb, teach the students to pronounce the words they don’t know.

(ii)dialogue (pair-work)

ask the students to imitate the dialogue to get which subject their partner like and why by using the following drills.

step 3 everyday english and function

(i) t: after we have talked about the favorite subjects you like best, now lets turn to another part. every day when we have a break between classes we may meet some old friends, you may talk about your classes , now please turn to p8 , let’s learn the dialogue in everyday english and function .

ask the students to listen to the tape ,then to read the dialogue in pairs. (explain some difficult words and teach ask them to pronounce them by looking up them in the dictionary)

ask the students to read and analyze these sentences.

(ii) work in pairs. make a conversation about one of your classes . use the conversation in activity 1 to help. ask some of them to report and act their dialogue out.

step4 summary

the teacher summary the whole class for the students and tell them what they should do to improve .

教学设计

一、教材分析

the emphasis of this period will be placed on the important new words, expressions in the part of vocabulary and reading. and get the students to find out the meaning of the text, then give some explanations about them , and offer practice to make students master the important words of usage.to consolidate the contents of the reading passage , students should be required to retell the text in their own words .in order to arouse students’ interest , the teacher can hold a competition.

二、教学目标

1.知识目标

get the students to learn and grasp the following important useful new words and expressions in the part:

learn the language in this part and train the students in the reading comprehension.

2.能力目标

1) improve the ss’ ability in reading.

2) train the ss to grasp the meaning of the words from the context.

3.情感目标

learning to love the new high school life and forming positive attitude towards language learning in new surroundings. 

三、教学重难点

重点:let the students learn how to introduce their school and their school life.

难点:know different school systems of different countries.

四、学情分析

因为这是入高中后的第一节课,学生们对于高中生活的一切都充满了好奇和兴趣,可以利用学生们的这种心理,选择一些和课本内容相关且学生感兴趣的话题进行探讨。

五、教学方法

新授课教学基本环节:预习检查 总结疑惑; 情景导入 展示目标;合作探究 精讲点拨;反思总结 当堂检测;发导学案 布置预习。

六、课前准备

1 学生的课前准备:预习课文,初步理解,查阅资料,尝试练习。

2 教师的教学准备:多媒体课件制作,课前预习学案,课后延伸拓展学案,分好小组。

检查落实学生的预习情况并了解学生的疑惑,使教学有了针对性。

step 2. introduction

(因为这是入高中后的第一节课,所以在正式开始进行教材内容之前,有必要首先介绍一下几点:介绍自己;介绍教材;介绍自己的教学方式等。)

step 3. pre-reading activities  lead in the study of the text by carrying out the activities 1and 2 of this part. (读前活动是阅读项目的准备和铺垫,能为整个项目的学习创造气氛,激发兴趣以及指出思维方向;更为重要的是,它能训练联想、对比和归纳等认知策略。通过做选择题学习生词,培养学生用英语进行初步思考的能力,为正面阅读做准备,应引起我们教师的重视。)

step 4. fast-reading  ask the students to read the passage quickly and then do activity 3. (训练学生快速获取知识的能力)

step 3. detailed-reading

a. decide if the following sentences are true or false?

4. ms. shen is very enthusiastic to her students.

step 5. post-reading  choose the answers with the same meaning as the sentences from the text.

step 6. discuss

the students work in teams and encourage them to give their opinions and finally two teams report their opinions to the whole class.

(这是利用已知信息构想和创设新信息,开放性答案的使用,能够培养学生的想象能力和语言组织能力,为homework做好准备。)

step 7. homework

write a one-hundred-word article to describe your senior high school, such as your classroom, your english teacher and your lessons.

九、 教学反思

本课的设计采用了课前下发导学案,学生预习本节内容,找出自己迷惑的地方。课堂上师生主要解决重难点,疑点,考点,易混点,最后进行当堂检测,课后进行拓展延伸,以达到提高课堂效率的目的。同时,结合初中的语言知识和技能,组织学生表达自己的观点;尽量联系高中新学校的实际情况,组织学生用所学知识表达学校生活。

step 1 revision

task 1 read the sentences from the passage and answer the questions. (p. 24)

task 2 explanation: 过去分词用作形容词

1、及物动词的过去分词表被动,

e.g. respected leader, excited children, steamed bread, closed windows, broken glass

2、不及物动词的过去分词不表示被动,只表示动作的完成

e.g. fallen leaves, risen sun, changed world, retired teacher

3、使用动词的过去分词表示被修饰的人或物所处的状态, 相当于一个形容词

e.g. a puzzled look, disappointed children,

4、一般来说,单个的过去分词作定语时,放在被修饰的词之前,分词短语则放在被修饰的词之后
